Why This Course Exists

I created this course because singing used to feel harder and less enjoyable than it needed to be. Through years of study and real-world singing, I learned how the vocal instrument actually works, and how small changes in understanding can make singing feel easier, more reliable, and more enjoyable.

Not a Drill-Based Course

This course uses guided vocal exploration instead of repetitive warm-ups, so technique connects directly to sensation and control. Rather than running drills in isolation, each exercise is used to clarify coordination and help you recognize how the different parts of the vocal instrument are working together as you sing.

Understand the Vocal Instrument

Learn how the four parts of the vocal instrument — breath, vocal fold function, resonance, and articulation — work together to create sound, so singing feels more efficient and less effort-dependent.

About the Course

Sing Without Strain teaches the foundations of healthy singing through guided use—not abstract theory or disconnected warmups. As you sing, you’ll learn how your vocal instrument actually works, gaining a practical understanding of the four parts of the vocal anatomy so breathing, resonance, and coordination start to make sense in real time. What sets this course apart is that it’s taught through the lens of someone who plays guitar and sings at the same time, unlike most traditional vocal classes. This approach comes from years of singing and playing live, where strain and inconsistency aren’t options. Instead of forcing notes, the focus is on awareness: recognizing tension, improving alignment, managing breath pressure, and understanding where sound should feel like it’s coming from. Throughout the course, I talk through my own decision-making—what I listen for, what I adjust first, and why—using real-world examples so you can begin diagnosing your own voice instead of guessing. This course works as a standalone foundation for singers who want to understand and improve their voice, and it also functions as a reference for vocal coaching, giving you shared language and concepts you can return to between sessions and making any one-on-one lessons you take more effective. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just solid foundations—so singing feels easier, freer, and more reliable.

Meet Your Vocal Coach

I’m Frank Persico — a full-time singer, guitarist, vocal coach, and YouTube educator. For years, I’ve made my living performing live while singing and playing guitar, and teaching singers how to do the same without strain, tension, or burnout. A big part of my work comes from navigating the challenges that singers who play guitar face every day: balancing breath while strumming, staying relaxed while locked into rhythm, and keeping the voice free when your hands and body are already working. Those challenges don’t always show up in traditional vocal training — but they matter in the real world. Alongside live performance, I’ve coached thousands of students through private lessons, online education, and my YouTube channel, helping singers improve their tone, range, consistency, and confidence — whether they’re performing live, recording, or just trying to enjoy singing again. This course reflects the same approach I use with my students and in my own singing: understanding how the voice works while you use it, building awareness instead of forcing results, and developing habits that support long-term vocal freedom.
